The Xponential-owned boutique brand is getting in on the Pilates boom with a new format

YogaSix members will get a taste of what Pilates is like in a new class inspired by the popular low-impact modality, in celebration of International Yoga Day.

The Xponential Fitness-owned brand has launched Y6 Core, a heated, Pilates-inspired class that maintains YogaSix’s signature methodology. The new class combines core strengthening, upper-body engagement and full-body movement through controlled, progressive patterns, without weights or high-impact cardio.

“Y6 Core represents an exciting evolution for YogaSix,” said YogaSix vice president of education Veronica Najera. “Our members are looking for workouts that build strength, challenge endurance, and still feel mindful and intentional. This class delivers all of that while staying true to our yoga roots.”

The strength-driven, low-impact workout pulls in the control, flow and intentional movement that Pilates is known for. While the class doesn’t have the same intensity of cardio, attendees will still work up a sweat, thanks to the use of resistance bands, blocks and sliders to deepen muscular engagement.

The new class launch also supports the boutique studio’s ongoing push into fitness-forward formats designed to lure new audiences and give existing members novel ways to push themselves.

YogaSix is currently offering 3 Classes for $36 for anyone wanting to try Y6 Core and any of the brand’s other offerings.

The new format is another example of the Pilates boom infiltrating various fitness contexts — even connected fitness giant Peloton is looking to get in on the action, recently acquiring Pilates startup Skōp, while big-box operator EoS Fitness is bringing the format into its gyms.
