Workout Anytime Opening New Flagship Featuring EGYM Smart Training Tech

Workout Anytime’s new Homestead, Florida, flagship features smart equipment from EGYM and will be the 24/7 gym operator’s largest location to date

Workout Anytime is going big in Homestead, Florida, opening a new location featuring smart training tech from EGYM.

The 24/7 fitness franchise is opening a 22,000-square-foot club at 27455 S. Dixie Hwy this month, its largest location to date and nearly quadruple the size of its previous Homestead gym.

A grand opening event is planned for June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a DJ, refreshments, tours, membership deals and prize giveaways.

The new club, which will serve as the operator’s flagship, goes beyond traditional gym fare, with premium recovery amenities that include red light therapy beds, infrared saunas, hydromassage, Polar Wave dry plunge technology and Styku body composition scanning.

Notably, the location also serves as a pilot for EGYM’s smart training technology, where members use a wristband or the Workout Anytime app to access equipment that automatically adjusts to their strength level and training goals.

The move puts Workout Anytime in growing company. Last year, EoS Fitness became the first large gym operator in the U.S. to launch EGYM Genius within its clubs.

For Workout Anytime CEO Jerry Pugh, the Homestead location carries weight beyond square footage. It’s the same club he owned nearly a decade ago as a franchisee before taking an ownership stake in the brand alongside private equity firms Skyline Global Partners and Peninsula Capital Partners.

“This community has shown incredible resilience and growth since Hurricane Andrew, and it is inspiring to see how much the city continues to evolve,” Pugh said. “Investing back into Homestead with our flagship location felt like the right next step. It’s not just about creating a bigger gym — we wanted to build a place where people feel motivated, welcomed and excited to prioritize their health every day.”

Pugh has big ambitions for the fitness franchise, which include doubling Workout Anytime’s footprint from 200 to 400 clubs over the next five years. As it stands now, Workout Anytime is heavily concentrated in the Southeast, particularly in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.  

“I think we could grow to 1,000 locations in the U.S. over the next 10 years with the right momentum and strategy,” he told ATN last year.

The Homestead opening is the latest move in a busy stretch for the brand. Earlier this year, Workout Anytime tapped Savannah baseball star Kyle “KJ” Jackson as its first “chief aura officer,” an ambassador role designed to extend the brand’s “The After” campaign beyond social media and into the member experience at clubs nationwide.
