In time, the brand plans to expand to other U.S. cities A new boutique fitness studio is coming to Los Angeles, the first in the area to combine three different forms of movement under one roof: Pilates, yoga and “rebounding.” Move Studios will open its debut location in October in Santa Monica, founded by LA native Gina Priolo, a longtime Pilates practitioner with a background in healthcare and corporate leadership. The space holds 12 Pilates reformers, 24 yoga mats and 14 rebounders. If you’ve never heard of rebounding, it’s a low-impact cardio workout entirely on a mini trampoline. It engages the aerobic system while requiring you to work on your stability atop the bouncy surface, reducing the impact on muscles and joints because of its soft material. credit: Move Studios Priolo was inspired by her passion for Pilates, which began during motherhood. At first, the classes helped her build strength and focus, but soon she fell in love with the sense of community it creates. “Pilates became essential to me during a transformative time in my life and gave me strength, focus and grounding when I needed it most,” said Priolo. “That experience inspired me to build a space where others could feel the same sense of empowerment through movement.” Priolo wanted the space to reflect her vision, with a calming and professional environment. The Santa Monica studio is equipped with eight flush-mounted speakers, soft textures, warm lighting, white oak flooring, stone accents, visible air quality monitors and personal lockers. credit: Move Studios Alongside its grand opening, Move Studios is launching its own app for members to view class schedules, reserve spots on specific reformers, mats or rebounders, track progress and stream on-demand content. The Santa Monica club is Move Studios’ first location, but the brand has plans to open more in the LA area before expanding further to other U.S. cities through 2030 and beyond. Additionally, Move Studios’ founding team members will have continuing educational opportunities — covering instruction, as well as business and leadership skills — with the chance to lead future studios as the brand expands nationwide. Move Studios is located at 2903 Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica with complimentary underground parking.
