On Saturday, Nov. 7, ATHX will host competitions in Amsterdam and the Los Angeles area, with results from the two events used to determine a winner in a 15-point battle between Europe and the USA. The Amsterdam event will take place first, with European athletes setting performance benchmarks for American competitors to chase later in the day. The European team will be captained by ATHX co-founder and Marchon Gyms founder Ollie Marchon, a former professional rugby player, while celebrity trainer and fitness influencer Massy Arias will captain Team USA. Unlike a traditional head-to-head competition, athletes will participate in standard ATHX races at their respective locations, with their performances compared across 13 divisions. Each division will be scored across three signature ATHX workout zones: strength, endurance and Metcon-X. The strength zone will be decided by the highest average weight lifted across three exercises, endurance by the highest average distance covered and Metcon-X by the fastest average completion time. The continent that wins two of the three zones in a given division will earn one point. The 13 matchups span individual and pairs competitions across ATHX’s Lite, ATHX and Pro categories. Two additional points will be awarded for the heaviest Lite pairs strength total and the single heaviest deadlift recorded during the events. The first continent to reach eight points will win the overall competition, with the final results set to be announced Sunday morning, U.K. time. The European competition will take place at RAI Amsterdam, while the U.S. event will be held at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in California. The intercontinental showdown comes as ATHX looks to capitalize on growing interest in competitive fitness, a category that has surged in popularity alongside the rise of Hyrox. Backed by Adidas as its headline partner, ATHX combines strength, endurance and functional training in a competition format designed for athletes of varying experience levels. The company has been expanding beyond its U.K. roots into Europe and the United States, including events in Miami and Houston. ATHX has even bigger ambitions for 2027, when it plans to stage more than 40 events across at least 18 countries, drawing more than 80,000 competitors. The series will also host its 2026 World Finals in Lisbon from Nov. 27-29, followed by the 2027 World Finals in London next November.
