The move highlights Tonal’s effort to address a gap discovered in a recent study, which found nearly 40% of women reported feeling they “don’t belong” in the free-weights section and follows the launch of Tonal 2, the company’s upgraded all-black, at-home digital strength machine. The new model, priced at $4,295, supports up to 250 pounds of adaptive digital weight and features a high-resolution Smart View camera for AI-driven coaching and new training modalities such as Aero HIIT, which combines cardio and strength training in one session. Tonal says the system replicates what a top-tier personal trainer would do, automatically and at scale. “Tonal is the first strength training product that I felt excited to be a part of,” McGee said. “It’s truly the safest and best product out there to help women who are new to – or intimidated by – lifting weights.
