Superpower Raises $30M To Redefine Preventative Care

The celeb and athlete-backed startup blends lab testing, AI and concierge care to deliver personalized healthcare guidance
Healthcare startup Superpower has raised $30 million in a Series A round as it formally launches its platform providing users with whole-body, biannual lab testing and a personalized health strategy.
Superpower members undergo lab testing twice a year for a $499 fee—either at home or through a partner lab—to analyze blood biomarkers, according to TechCrunch. The platform then evaluates the results alongside past medical records, fitness tracker data and genetic information, using AI to generate a health overview that flags concerns and delivers an actionable plan.
After receiving their health results, Superpower users can access a marketplace of healthcare providers and a 24/7 concierge care team — combining AI and human support — that offers personalized guidance via messaging. For an additional fee, members can request further tests, such as a gut microbiome analysis and a Grail cancer screening.
The round saw participation from Forerunner and Day One, DJ Steve Aoki, actress Vanessa Hudgens, NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo, and existing investors Cyan Bannister, Shaan Puri, Balaji Srinivasan, Arielle Zuckerberg and more.
Last May, the San Francisco-based startup — founded in early 2023 by serial entrepreneurs Kevin Unkrich, Max Marchione and Jacob Peters, each personally impacted by the traditional healthcare system — raised $4 million in pre-seed funding for its virtual platform.
Superpower currently has a waitlist of interested individuals and will soon launch an app for iOS and Android, according to the publication.
