The protein-infused popcorn brand landed $15 million in funding — bringing its total funding to date to $27 million — with the new cash powering nationwide distribution at Target, Walmart, Starbucks and beyond. Khloud appeals to multiple crowds: high-protein dieters and anti-seed oil consumers, as the product features whey protein and olive oil as key ingredients. The brand has maintained a female-forward marketing approach, seeding product in sorority houses and tapping content creators for social media visibility and endorsements. That strategy might very well pay off, as women are proving to be a key demographic driving the high-protein era, with 2025 data showing they outnumbered their male counterparts in seeking higher protein intake. Khloud’s marketing has also leveraged in-person engagement and a “meeting consumers where they are” strategy. Last year, Khloud hosted an activation at Los Angeles International Airport, rolling a “Fuel Your Flight” trolley through the rideshare lot and handing out more than 600 bags of popcorn, each packing 7 grams of protein across flavors like White Cheddar, Sweet & Salty Kettle, and Olive Oil & Sea Salt. The brand has been leaning into the marriage of indulgence and functional fueling, taking a common snack like popcorn and bumping up its protein content. Many other brands have taken a similar approach during the protein boom with foods from chips and cereal to ice cream and cookies now adorning “high-protein” labels. Khloud is growing as the protein market overall continues on its explosive growth trajectory, projected to surpass $50 billion by 2031. Tags: Funding Khloe Kardashian Khloud Protein Wellness Trends
