The Dubai-based company, which already works with U.S. operators including Crunch Fitness and UFC Gym, has big plans for the American gym market

Enhance, a Dubai-based personal training software platform for high-value, low-price (HVLP) gyms, has raised $18.2 million in equity and debt funding as it aims to scale in the U.S. market.

Institutional investors include UAE-based Global Ventures on the equity side and India-based Stride Ventures on the debt side. Enhance didn’t disclose details on the ratio of equity to debt financing.

Founded in 2018, Enhance provides software that’s designed to help gyms increase their personal training revenue. The company manages all personal training operations for GymNation, one of the Middle East’s largest gym chains. It’s also already built a significant presence in the U.S. market, working with brands including Crunch Fitness, In-Shape Family Fitness, UFC Gym and PureGym.

Globally, the company says it supports 15,000 personal trainers and over 500,000 booked PT sessions per month, while its revenue has grown at a 65% compound annual growth rate since 2019.

Enhance says it will use the new funding to expand even more in the U.S. low-price gym market, and eventually, other international markets.

“We are delighted to add growth capital and to diversify our capital structure, from a position of strength,” Enhance founder and CEO Tarek Mounir said. “We are becoming the global operating system for personal training … that redefines how PT services are delivered and managed.”

“With more U.S. expansion ahead, and the prospect of other international markets being perfectly suited to our system, we look forward to the future with confidence,” Mounir added.

The company says that for mature HVLP gyms running its software, personal training revenue can reach $85,000 per club per month.

The funding round comes as the personal training sector experiences big shifts amid the rise of AI. At least two major U.S.-based gym chains now offer AI-powered personal training apps, and more could follow suit.

Enhance leverages AI in its software to handle admin and technical tasks, but the company believes human personal trainers should handle client relationships on the gym floor.

Looking even further ahead, Enhance says it wants to become the operating system of record for the entire global personal training market, which it says is worth $42 billion.

The company’s funding round also marks a key moment for a GCC-founded fitness tech startup looking to make it big in the U.S. market.

“Global Ventures has backed Enhance across successive rounds, and our belief in the business has only deepened over that period,” said Noor Sweid, the founder and managing partner of Global Ventures. “From the outset, Tarek and the team were building for global markets, and the company’s establishment in the US, alongside its GCC operations, reflects the scale of that ambition. Enhance demonstrates that companies founded in this region can compete and win in the world’s most developed markets.”
