Anytime France, S.A.S., currently operates three Anytime Fitness locations across the country, meaning the deal will significantly increase its French footprint. The acquisition also brings 23 employees and approximately 14,000 Interval Sport members into the Anytime Fitness network. The move comes as Anytime Fitness ramps up international expansion after recently opening its 6,000th location globally. The Purpose Brands-owned fitness giant expects to add roughly 500 clubs worldwide in 2026 and has identified Europe as a key growth market. “The Anytime Fitness brand is on an incredible growth trajectory: we just opened our 6,000th location and expect to open 500 clubs globally this year,” Purpose Brands chief international officer Sander van den Born said. “With European fitness trends favoring strength training and recovery, brand growth in France is a natural next step.” Anytime France is owned by Benoit Hanssen and Matt Burgess, who also operate Anytime Fitness clubs in Italy. Its existing French clubs span Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. “Bringing the Interval Sport clubs into the Anytime Fitness network means welcoming 10 new locations, 23 team members and 14,000 members into our family,” Hanssen said. The acquisition also offers a look at how Anytime Fitness plans to pursue European growth: partnering with experienced local operators and adapting clubs to individual markets while maintaining the brand’s broader standards. “This acquisition reflects exactly the kind of growth we want to see across Europe; deliberate, community-first expansion that brings strong country operators, like Anytime France, into new locations,” Anytime Fitness global brand president Stacy Anderson said. Anytime Fitness now serves 5.6 million members across more than 6,000 clubs in 40 countries and territories.
