Flagship locations are also planned for Melbourne and Brisbane as part of the national rollout. Gary Brecka, who backs ULC along with Sequel Brands founder and CEO Anthony Geisler, announced the expansion at the Fortuna One Global Summit in Sydney. The deal pushes ULC’s planned global footprint past 300 territories, according to the company, just months after the brand began selling franchises in the U.S. “The number one question I get asked every single day is, ‘Where do I start?’” Brecka said. “Australians are just as engaged in this conversation as anyone I meet in the U.S. They’re reading the research, they’re asking the questions. ULC is the answer. You walk in, and that’s where the journey starts.” Developed by Geisler’s Sequel Brands in partnership with Brecka and precision health platform Lifeforce, ULC combines health diagnostics and personalized protocols with recovery and wellness services under one roof. The concept is organized into three zones — The Lab, The Apothecary and The Playground — with offerings including biomarker and hormone testing, sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy and hyperbaric oxygen. The Australian agreement represents another major step for a concept that has yet to celebrate its first anniversary of franchise sales. ULC now says it has sold more than 275 territories across the U.S., before adding the planned 50-location Australian network. The concept’s initial U.S. location is projected to open by the end of this year. “Australia has all the hallmarks of what’s driven ULC’s franchise growth in the U.S. so far — an engaged, health-conscious population, and no real category leader at the neighborhood level,” Geisler said. “We’ve built one of the fastest-growing franchise sales pipelines in preventive health in under a year, and we see the same opportunity here.” Sydney real estate developers Ben and Marie Doyle will oversee the rollout as CEO and COO, respectively, of ULC Australia & New Zealand.
