The MMA-inspired gym brand is bringing its “Train Different” philosophy to China, a rare move for a U.S.-based fitness operator

UFC Gym, the commercial fitness extension of the popular MMA organization, is entering the mainland China market, the operator announced.

The operator plans to establish an initial presence in major mainland China cities, opening facilities that include professional training zones, functional training areas, recovery spaces and branded retail, while collaborating with local partners to ensure consistent service quality and class experiences.

The expansion is not only a significant step forward for UFC Gym’s global growth, but also for American fitness brands looking to break into a key international market.

“China represents a critically important growth market for UFC Gym,” said its CEO, Adam Sedlack.

“The passion for performance, discipline and self-improvement among Chinese consumers aligns perfectly with our ‘Train Different’ philosophy,” he added. “Our goal is to deliver a world-class fitness experience rooted in UFC’s competitive DNA that empowers people to train with purpose, build resilience and unlock their full potential.”

Chinese consumers will discover UFC Gym’s trademark training style that marries MMA techniques, HIIT, powerlifting and Hyrox, in addition to group fitness classes, recovery amenities and physical therapy, which come together under its “Train Different” philosophy, which promotes both physical strength and mental resilience.

“We are extremely excited to bring UFC GYM to Mainland China,” said UFC Gym China CEO Boni Wang.  “China has a rapidly growing fitness and wellness market, and the pursuit of health, strength and peak performance strongly aligns with UFC Gym’s core values.”

UFC Gym’s Chinese debut represents a rare step forward for a major U.S. fitness brand, although brands including Orangetheory Fitness and Powerhouse Gym have locations in China.
