The Health & Fitness Association’s new partnerships with the Turkish Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and North Macedonia Active aim to boost regional collaboration and expand access to global events

The Turkish Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (TVGFBF) and North Macedonia Active (NMA) have signed strategic agreements with the Health & Fitness Association (HFA), opening new avenues for growth, education and collaboration for fitness club owners, operators, and trainers in both countries.

The partnerships give both federations discounted access to HFA’s international events, including the upcoming HFA European Congress this October.

TVGFBF, the country’s leading bodybuilding and fitness institution, said the agreement would help elevate Turkey’s international profile.

“This agreement not only expands the vision of our federation but also advances the growth of Turkey’s fitness industry,” TVGFBF president Koray Girgin said. “Partnering with a global organization like HFA will elevate the country’s presence and influence in this field, making it more visible and impactful on the international stage.”

NMA, meanwhile, is a newly established federation representing health clubs and studios in North Macedonia.

“Joining the Health & Fitness Association is a milestone for North Macedonia’s growing fitness sector,” NMA founder Magdalena Spasovska said. “This partnership brings powerful opportunities, not just for connection but also for transformation. Through access to global research, education and innovation, we’re empowering our trainers, owners, and fitness leaders to raise the bar. Together, we’re building a more active, informed, and resilient fitness culture—one that puts North Macedonia firmly on the global fitness map.”

The partnerships are consistent with HFA’s overarching mission to deepen regional ties and elevate fitness on the public health agenda.

“We are confident that our collaboration with TVGFBF and NMA will serve as a model for the region and inspire further collaboration,” HFA EMEA director Florian Cartoux said. “It is important to share best practices in our attempt to get fitness and exercise recognized as essential preventive health care.”
