Precor has introduced the Breakaway Treadmill, a commercial-grade slat belt model aimed at updating the cardio floor with new training options and a fresh look.

The Woodinville, Washington-based equipment maker says the machine’s rubberized slats are designed to absorb impact and create a smoother, more responsive running surface than traditional belts.

The Breakaway also features a “Push Mode” that allows users to convert the treadmill into a sled-style workout for high-intensity interval (HIIT) training and power development without additional equipment.

Other highlights include “Cadence Coach,” which provides real-time step-rate feedback, a bold new design with intuitive touchpoints and a service-friendly build with modular components to reduce maintenance downtime.

“The Breakaway Treadmill brings energy back to the cardio floor by giving exercisers new ways to train and operators the confidence of Precor quality in a statement piece built to perform day after day,” said Ean Reves, the president of Precor and general manager of the company’s commercial business unit (CBU).

Facilities can pair the treadmill with Precor’s new P31S LED console or the company’s existing P94 and P84 touchscreen consoles, giving operators flexibility in performance and entertainment features.

Precor, a 40-year veteran of commercial fitness equipment, says the Breakaway is available to order now through its sales channels
