Now open in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood, Figure blends Figueroa’s signature low-impact sculpting and strength workouts

New York City-based fitness instructor Olivia Figueroa is pouring her years of private coaching and instruction experience at studios like The Pearl and Fuze House into her own concept.

Figueroa opened her first fitness studio, Figure, on August 1 in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood.

The boutique studio takes Figueroa’s signature low-impact workouts — Force, Foundation and Femme — to create an intimate environment for clients to build community around strength and toning workouts.

“Figure is a form-based method rooted in my background in classical ballet, personal training, and years of teaching movement,” Figueroa explained to Athletech News. “Across all three (formats), the goal is the same: to build a body that feels strong, capable, and confident while creating a workout experience that feels elevated and enjoyable.”

“I’ve always believed that strength and elegance can coexist,” Figueroa added.

Force is Figueroa’s strength-focused format, using weights and resistance bands to build and define muscle. Foundation is about precise and controlled movements for stability and body awareness, while lastly Femme is her original barre method for sculpting and toning inspired by ballet movements.

“I wanted to create the space and method I felt was missing — a studio where people come for community, but equally because they want results and they want to look really good,” Figueroa said. “I don’t think those things have to be mutually exclusive. I also didn’t want to create another 30-plus-person workout class.”

While Figueroa has big goals for where to take her brand, she’s intentionally focused on making her first location as high of quality as she can before looking elsewhere.

“Long term, I see Figure becoming much bigger than one studio,” she said. “I’d love to bring the method to additional locations and continue building out the digital side of the brand so people can experience Figure beyond New York.”

She also revealed that she’s envisioning a future in which she embraces lifestyle, travel, wellness and strategic partnerships as she continues building out Figure.

“I wanted to bring a certain level of refinement to the workout experience without losing intensity. You can train hard, sweat, lift, and challenge yourself while still moving beautifully and with precision,” she said. “Ultimately, I want Figure to become a recognizable method and brand in its own right — something people immediately associate with strength, elegance, discipline and a very specific standard of movement.”

Figure is now open at 270 Bowery in Nolita.
