Life Time has been steadily building out its athletic events business beyond its luxury country club footprint, now owning 30 events including the Miami Marathon

Life Time is making its mark on Arizona this May, with two club openings in Gilbert and Paradise Valley and the acquisition of Phoenix 10K, a local road race brand with a dedicated following.

The deal comes as running continues to see increased participation growthfrom the advent of “runcations” to tentpole events like the Boston Marathon, which saw more than 30,000 participants this year.

Life Time has been steadily building out its athletic events business beyond its luxury country club footprint. The brand now owns 30 such events, including the Miami Marathon, Unbound Gravel and the Leadville Race Series. They have also made a push into the hybrid fitness space with LT Games. The 17-stage competition is supported by dedicated training classes, such as Hybrid XT, set to roll out across select Life Time clubs.

Dr. Art Mollen, who founded Phoenix 10K in 1976, will remain involved as founder and ambassador, Life Time said.

“As I look to the future, there’s no better steward than Life Time — the nation’s preeminent athletic events owner, producer and operator,” Dr. Mollen said. “I’m thrilled to remain personally involved as this cherished community event continues to evolve.”

Registration is open now for the 2026 Life Time Phoenix 10K, which will take place on Nov. 8 in the Biltmore neighborhood and will feature the Mollen Mile for Kids for children ages 3-10.
