A new partnership between Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa and Evolt Health brings body composition analysis to Hyatt’s California resort, underscoring the continued evolution of wellness tourism

The hotel spa, once the place you went to disconnect, is becoming the place you go to find out — and at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, it’s where guests can now get a body composition reading in just 60 seconds.

It comes courtesy of a new partnership between the hotel and health technology company Evolt Health. The brand is behind the Evolt 360 Body Composition Analyzer, which can be found in wellness clinics and gyms, including Anytime Fitness.

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach is among the first to bring the clinical-grade device into a luxury resort environment, Evolt Health co-founder and chief operating officer Kelly Weideman said.

Guests stand on the analyzer fully clothed while it captures more than 40 body composition metrics, measuring skeletal muscle mass, visceral fat, metabolic rate, biological age, hydration and inflammation markers. The service starts at $40 and is offered at the property’s Pacific Waters Spa for both guests and spa visitors.

Body-scanning technology has gained traction amid growing consumer interest in longevity, the rise of GLP-1 medications (and the concern over muscle loss that has come with them) and a shift toward viewing muscle mass as a marker of long-term health.

Following the scan, clients receive recommended treatments from the Pacific Waters Spa menu, such as infrared sauna, red light therapy and PEMF. Recommendations can be paired with massages, facials and body therapies.

The scans are stored on the Evolt Active app, allowing clients to track changes over time and receive personalized nutrition guidance.

“By integrating Evolt’s health technology into Pacific Waters Spa, we’re able to move beyond traditional wellness and offer a level of personalization and measurable insight that simply doesn’t exist elsewhere in the destination,” the resort’s spa director, Adam Estrella, said.
