CrossFit is bringing more advanced performance tracking to its athletes and affiliates through a new long-term partnership with wearable technology company WurQ.

The exclusive agreement names WurQ the official performance analytics partner of CrossFit and the CrossFit Games, with the companies launching a wearable sensor platform designed specifically for high-intensity functional fitness.

Unlike traditional fitness wearables that primarily track metrics like heart rate and calories burned, WurQ’s dual-sensor system is designed to analyze movement itself, automatically recognizing CrossFit exercises while measuring reps, range of motion, velocity and power output. The platform also includes a CrossFit-specific AI assistant trained on more than 100,000 tracked workouts, allowing athletes to ask questions about their training and receive personalized performance insights.

“Partnering with WurQ means taking incredibly advanced movement tracking and making it easy, fun, and accessible for our community,” said CrossFit vice president of affiliates and operations Jay DeCoons. “Whether you’re a local member looking to hit a personal best or a coach looking out for your class, this technology brings an entirely new level of motivation to the gym floor. And when the CrossFit Games roll around, this same real-time data will let fans see the physics behind what our elite athletes are actually achieving.”

The companies say the technology will be rolled out across CrossFit’s global affiliate network, giving coaches and gym owners new tools to establish athlete baselines, personalize programming, measure member progress and gamify classes.

During the CrossFit Games season, WurQ’s analytics will also power new real-time performance data intended to enhance broadcasts and storytelling around elite competition.
