CR Fitness Nears 20 Crunch Gyms in Dallas Amid Continued US Expansion

One of the leading Crunch Fitness franchisees is on a nationwide expansion tear, backed by a recent $350 million strategic investment

CR Fitness Holdings is closing in on its goal of operating 20 Crunch Fitness clubs across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, opening its 14th location in the market while continuing an aggressive nationwide expansion.

The franchise group’s newest gym, Crunch McKinney, is set to open July 30, with six additional Dallas-area locations planned in Benbrook, Burleson, Garland, Golden Triangle, McKinney North and Rayzor Ranch.

Once those clubs open, Southwest Fitness Holdings — CR Fitness’ Texas and Arizona operating subsidiary — will manage 20 Crunch locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

“We are proud to be launching our Crunch McKinney location for the Dallas-Fort Worth community,” said CR Fitness CEO Tony Scrimale. “With premium amenities, top-tier equipment and dynamic group fitness programming — including Crunch Reform Pilates — this club will bring something special to the community.”

The 40,000-square-foot McKinney location represents a $12 million investment and will feature Crunch’s 3.0 club design, including expanded strength and cardio areas, HIITZone training, hot studios, recovery amenities and a dedicated Reform Pilates studio. The club is expected to create more than 70 jobs.

The Dallas expansion comes as CR Fitness accelerates growth across multiple markets. Last week, the franchisee announced plans to develop 20 Crunch clubs across the greater Phoenix area by the end of 2027, bringing the brand’s latest 3.0 concept and premium Crunch Select format to Arizona.

The twin expansion efforts are part of CR Fitness’ broader plan to add more than 100 Crunch clubs over five years. The company received a $350 million strategic investment from Sixth Street in 2025 to support new development and investments in the member experience.

CR Fitness surpassed one million members earlier this year and currently operates 96 Crunch Fitness locations, making it one of the largest franchise groups in the Crunch system. Across its global network, Crunch Fitness has more than 500 gyms serving over three million members.
