Canyon Ranch Tucson stands as the only resort in the Americas shortlisted for the Michelin Guide’s new Wellness Award
Canyon Ranch Tucson has landed on a global shortlist from the Michelin Guide, becoming the only resort in the Americas nominated for the Michelin Wellness Award, which honors the five best wellness hotels in the world.
Located in the Sonoran Desert, Canyon Ranch Tucson combines one of the country’s largest spas with medical, fitness and movement centers, multiple dining venues, spiritual sanctuaries and sprawling outdoor sports facilities and gardens.
The new award is designed to recognize hotels that push wellness beyond luxury spas and fitness centers with immersive experiences. Canyon Ranch’s Tucson and Woodside, California, properties already hold the guide’s top rating of three Michelin Keys, while its Lenox, Massachusetts, location holds two keys, the highest distinction in New England.
“At Canyon Ranch, wellness is more than an amenity, it is the foundation of every guest’s stay to cultivate health, joy and connection,” Canyon Ranch CEO Mark Rivers said. “Our guests step away from their daily lives to immerse in a world with top experts in integrative health, fitness, nutrition, spirituality and personal growth. To be recognized by Michelin as one of the top five wellness destinations worldwide—and the only one in the Americas—is a testament to the transformative power of the Canyon Ranch experience.”
The nomination comes amid a broader expansion of Michelin’s hotel recognition program. On October 8, the organization will announce the first Wellness Award winner during its annual celebration, which also includes the unveiling of the 2025 Michelin Keys.
The Michelin nod comes as Canyon Ranch continues rolling out new science-driven programs. In July, the luxury brand launched Beat Burnout, a three-night retreat at its Lenox, Massachusetts resort designed to help executives reset in an “always-on” work culture. The program combines biomarker testing, diagnostic screening, integrative coaching and workshops with partners like Chief, the executive women’s network. Additional 2025 sessions are scheduled, with more dates to follow in 2026.
