Arcade Fire’s Sarah Neufeld to Launch Fyra Yoga in New York City

Blending music, movement and mission, Fyra Yoga offers an eco-conscious, community-driven experience that speaks to a new era of wellness
Musician and Arcade Fire founding member Sarah Neufeld is turning up the heat on wellness with the launch of Fyra Yoga, a new hot yoga concept debuting in New York City on May 1.
Fyra (pronounced FEE-RAH) will open its first two studios at 434 Sixth Avenue in Manhattan’s West Village and 109 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — both former Modo Yoga NYC locations, which are being rebranded.

Fyra Yoga guests can expect intelligent sequencing, mindful movement, overhead radiant heat, fully equipped locker rooms with showers, Manduka gear, and a living green wall created by MacBeth Farm Interiorscapes.
Several classes are available, including Fyra (a signature class rooted in Hatha), Fyra Flow, Freestyle Flow, Core Flow (Pilates/Vinyasa hybrid), Fyra Sculpt, Recharge, Yin, and Fyra Love (a $15 community class). Live music will be integrated into select classes.

“Music has always been a foundational part of our lives — it’s where we come from,” Neufeld said. The idea for Fyra was born, in part, out of that deep musical lineage: we wanted to create a space that felt composed, not just architecturally or energetically, but sonically. From the curated playlists to live performances and sound-based classes, music isn’t just in the background — it’s in the bones of the space. It shapes the rhythm of each practice, the mood of the room and the emotional arc we’re guiding people through.”
Another class, Power Pilates, is slated to launch in June.
To kick things off, Fyra is launching with three days of live music yoga experiences in both studio locations:
- May 2 @ 6pm (Williamsburg) – Fyra Flow featuring live set by DJ Tasha Blank, class led by Lyss Arroyo
- May 3 @ 2pm (Williamsburg) – Fyra Flow featuring live performances by Paul Beaubrun and Sarah Neufeld of Arcade Fire, featuring DJ Adapta, class led by Frantz Hall
- May 4 @ 10am (Williamsburg) – Freestyle Flow featuring live set by DJ Dominica Fossati, class led by Karine Plantadit
- May 4 @ 7pm (West Village) – Yin Yoga featuring live music performance by Rebecca Foon, led by Lawrence Reilly

In addition to being eco-conscious with its use of reclaimed materials, Fyra is a co-founding partner of Junglekeepers, a nonprofit protecting the Amazon rainforest. The hot yoga brand says it will support a different charity each month.
“Over the past thirteen years, we’ve built something truly special with Modo Yoga NYC, a community rooted in care, dedication and the shared joy of movement,” Fyra co-founder, acclaimed cellist and environmental advocate Rebecca Foon said. “Fyra is a natural evolution of that journey. This rebrand reflects our desire to grow with our community, to innovate, and to more fully express our values around sustainability, artistic collaboration and social impact. Fyra is not just a new name, it’s an invitation to deepen our collective practice, to stay curious, and to build something even more beautiful together.”
Pricing begins at $35 per class, with class packages and membership options available.
