Zepp Health’s Amazfit, the official wearable of Hyrox, is making a bigger push to cater to hybrid-fitness athletes

The latest personalized guidance and insights for hybrid-fitness athletes are now just an arm’s distance away.

Amazfit, the official wearable partner for Hyrox, launched the Balance 3 and Balance Ultra smart watches at a New York City event this Tuesday. Both wearables track performance and provide intelligent guidance through the Zepp App. The launch event coincided with Hyrox’s two-weekend race currently being held in NYC.

“People aren’t focusing on one type of fitness anymore,” said Jimmy Kennedy, director of production for hybrid performance at Amazfit. “They’re running, they’re strength training, they’re doing Pilates and they’re doing yoga, and oftentimes, doing them together. Today’s modern athletes need balance.”

The Balance Ultra serves as the flagship device in Amazfit’s Balance series, applicable for training, work and daily life. The Balance 3, which carries a slightly smaller frame, is for everyday, hybrid athletes who want one tool for the gym, running, recovery and daily performance.

While both watches expand on their predecessors, carrying 180 different workout profiles and a more refined design, they stand out from an innovation standpoint with the Hybrid Training System and HybridCharge.

HybridCharge is the next evolution of BioCharge, which Amazfit launched last year. It collects and combines data related to the user’s bodily energy and recovery state, stress and lifestyle demands, and workout strain. It gives users increased clarity on what they can sustain in the moment and helps them better concentrate effort across training and recovery.

“Your readiness or your recovery alone is not simply your training and your sleep,” Kimmel said. “There are so many other things that go into that stuff, so many other things that these watches aren’t capturing. So, with HydroCharge, that’s what we are really focusing on, so we can bring all this stuff to life and give you one centralized metric.”

The Balance 3 and Balance Ultra have Weekly Focus and Training Balance features as well, which help users understand how their training distributes into strength, endurance and recovery categories. Hybrid Training Plans also provide greater structure for user development.

Amid the rise of fitness events like Hyrox, these innovations underscore Amazfit’s intention to address hybrid fitness more intuitively and eliminate the time wasted by gym-goers wondering what they can, or should do next.

“The future of training is not about doing more without direction. It is about training with structure,” said Wayne Huang, the CEO of Amazfit parent company Zepp Health. “With Balance 3 and Balance Ultra, we are helping athletes better understand how strength, endurance, recovery and daily life all affect performance. The Balance series brings those signals together so users can understand their capacity, manage effort and make more informed training decisions over time.”

The brand’s Hyrox partnership shines through the new devices as well. Both watches feature several features that directly correlate to the fitness racing phenomenon, including Hyrox training plans, race simulations, virtual pacing, race-specific workouts and post-race analysis.
