The 18,000-square-foot location will feature boutique fitness studios across multiple modalities, along with what Sweat and Tonic is calling Toronto’s “first high-capacity group strength training studio”

Sweat and Tonic is expanding its multi-modality fitness and wellness concept with a new 18,000-square-foot location in Toronto’s Yorkville neighborhood, set to open in October.

The club will add 300 weekly classes across dedicated strength, cycling, heated yoga and Pilates and Lagree studios, along with recovery amenities, a café, co-working space and members’ lounge.

The centerpiece is a 48-person strength studio that Sweat and Tonic is billing as Toronto’s “first high-capacity group strength training studio”. The studio will feature 12 workout pods equipped with Rogue racks and Keiser cable systems, supported by digital instruction screens and an elevated coaching platform.

“We’ve created the most comprehensive group fitness and wellness offering in Canada, and each new location has become an opportunity for us to continue elevating the guest experience,” Sweat and Tonic founder David Ingram said.

The Yorkville club reflects the rise of the “club of studios” model, in which operators combine several boutique fitness modalities within a single membership and location. Brands such as Club Studio, Style Studios and Altea have also leaned into the format, offering members access to multiple specialized modalities without requiring separate studio memberships.

For Sweat and Tonic, that mix will include a 55-bike immersive cycling studio powered by Technogym, a 45-person infrared-heated yoga and Pilates room and a 17-machine Reformd Lagree studio.

The Reformd concept is an extension of the standalone Lagree studio Sweat and Tonic launched at The Well in 2025. The company says the location has recorded more than 106,000 visits since opening.

Outside the studios, members will have access to cold plunges and infrared and high-heat saunas inside the changing rooms. The location will also include Tonic Bar, a smoothie and healthy food café, and Tonic House, a lounge and co-working venue overlooking Yorkville.

The mix of training, recovery and social spaces is designed to position the location as more than a traditional group fitness studio, borrowing elements from hospitality, wellness clubs and third-space concepts.

“Every aspect of S&T is meticulously designed and built to support our guests in all areas of their health and longevity — cardiovascular health, strength training, conditioning, mobility, restoration, recovery, nutrition and community connection,” Ingram said.

Founded in 2019, Sweat and Tonic currently operates several locations in Toronto, along with a sister concept in Los Angeles. The company says it now offers more than 600 classes per week and has recorded over 3.3 million bookings since launch.

Pre-opening memberships for the Yorkville club will go on sale July 31.
