Inspire360 Launches YMCA Grant to Expand Trainer Education

Selected YMCAs will receive up to a year of free access to continuing education from ACE, TRX, Exos and other fitness education providers

Fitness education technology company Inspire360 is launching a new grant program designed to help YMCAs invest in their trainers at a time when continuing education budgets can be difficult to maintain.

The Inspire360 Education Grant for YMCAs will provide selected YMCAs with six to 12 months of free access to Inspire360 Club, the company’s workforce development and continuing education platform. It’s the first-ever grant of its kind, according to Inspire360.

Through the program, YMCA trainers will have access to a continuing education library valued at $16,000 per trainer, featuring courses and certifications from organizations including the American Council on Exercise (ACE), TRX, Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Exos.

The education spans areas including functional training, movement quality, strength, mobility, program design and weight management, along with courses covering sales and member engagement.

“YMCA teams do an enormous amount for their communities, and the people delivering that work deserve the very best education,” Inspire360 vice president of partnerships Ravi Sharma said. “Covering six to twelve months of service takes the platform cost off the table so a Y can put this education to work right away.”

The grant also gives YMCA leaders tools to manage staff development across multiple branches, including creating learning pathways, tracking course completion and verifying certifications.

Inspire360 is positioning the initiative as a way for YMCAs to improve coaching quality while creating clearer development paths that could help with employee retention.

The program comes as fitness operators and education providers increasingly look for ways to strengthen the pipeline of qualified fitness professionals and connect education more directly with career development.

The grant is funded by Inspire360 and will be awarded to a limited number of YMCAs, with recipients receiving between six and 12 months of free platform access depending on eligibility and selection criteria.

Applications are open through Nov. 1. Inspire360 notes that the program is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by YMCA of the USA or any local YMCA association.
