I Tried Dr. Lipman’s Eleven Eleven Wellness Center

The wellness center takes a new approach to medicine, focusing on longevity-promoting interventions
Dr. Frank Lipman has long been a pioneer in the field of longevity through his unique practice of integrative and functional medicine. As a New York Times bestselling author of seven health-focused books, including The New Rules of Aging Well, Dr. Lipman has spent over 40 years exploring the best ways to live healthier and longer. His approach, which he calls “Good Medicine,” blends Western modalities with alternative healing practices, creating a comprehensive and holistic strategy for well-being.
The Eleven Eleven Wellness Center, located in New York City, is at the forefront of this movement. The center’s focus is on longevity: improving the healthspan of its patients, not just their lifespan.
Dr. Lipman told Athletech News, “Our program is designed to improve the quality of our patient’s life. We focus on longevity-promoting interventions such as lifestyle modifications, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, photodynamic light therapy, supplements, peptides, hormone replacement therapy, and, if indicated, medications that support longevity.”
In contrast to traditional medical practices, the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center offers a highly personalized experience. Dr. Lipman and his team conduct genetic testing to identify predispositions and vulnerabilities, perform extensive biomarker testing, and utilize wearables and brain mapping technologies to create customized health programs for each individual.
“We take information from wearables and do brain mapping to create personalized programs for each individual,” Lipman explained. Brain mapping is one of the many services offered at the center. “The brain mapping determines under- or overactive areas of activity in the brain. We then work with neurotherapists to determine specific frequencies of photobiomodulation for your brain using red light therapy helmets, which you can use at home. The therapy enhances cellular function, reduces inflammation, and improves blood flow, supporting better cognitive function and overall brain health.”
The center’s integrative approach also incorporates advanced technologies. For example, the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center has tools like Shiftwave, a pulse pressure device that claims to reset the body’s stress response and realign the nervous system, full body red light therapy, and the InBody Scan, for a body composition overview.
While visiting the wellness center, I tried the InBody Scan. The test uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis to measure the amount of body water by reading low-level electrical currents. The scan was simple and involved standing on a scale-like device for several minutes while it took my measurements. The results were incredibly detailed, showing body fat, muscle mass, and even water weight. One interesting insight revealed that my dominant leg had slightly more muscle mass than the other. The InBody Scan also provided a holistic view of one’s health, offering recommendations beyond simple weight loss, like building muscle mass, and losing or gaining body fat. The doctors at Eleven Eleven help members understand their scan results, and together, they implement changes in diet and lifestyle based on these findings.
I also tried Shiftwave, the unique new tool for stress management. The pulsed pressure waves created a relaxing sensation in a zero-gravity recliner. The tool was a forcing mechanism for relaxation and recovery, which could reduce stress and anxiety. The device offers guided transformations with tailored patterns and frequencies that aim to reduce anxiety and promote better sleep.
The Eleven Eleven Wellness Center also offers an annual longevity program where doctors assess patients’ biological markers to understand the aging process. Using this data, they develop personalized plans that include diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications, along with more advanced therapies like hormone replacement therapy and peptides, if needed. Members can also seek out a range of additional services, including physical therapy, acupuncture, and integrative psychotherapy, reflecting the wellness center’s holistic philosophy.
Members appreciate that Eleven Eleven is not just another doctor’s office. The center goes beyond routine testing for a more comprehensive perspective on one’s health.
“Patients know that I am keeping up to date with the latest cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for longevity. This is the future of medicine happening now,” Dr. Lipman concluded. “The field of longevity medicine is evolving quickly, and much of my time is spent keeping up with the latest information. I believe this is what medicine will become in the next 10 years.”
