CorePower Yoga Aims To Empower Teens With Free Summer Program

CorePower Yoga’s CEO notes the “transformative power” yoga can have in helping young people improve their mental and physical health

In an effort to support the mental and physical health of teenagers across the country, CorePower Yoga announced an exclusive perk for its All Access members this summer—a free teen summer program.

Recognizing the heightened stress levels and challenges faced by today’s youth, CorePower Yoga aims to provide an outlet for teens to strengthen their physical and mental health.

Teenagers today are facing more mental health struggles than perhaps ever before, likely exacerbated by social media. Research has indicated that American teenagers experience higher stress rates than the average for adults in the country. Yoga has long been recognized as a powerful practice for reducing stress, improving mental clarity, and enhancing physical fitness.

“At CorePower Yoga, we are passionate believers in the transformative power that a yoga practice can offer,” CorePower Yoga CEO Niki Leondakis tells Athletech News. “Studies show that older teens represent one of the largest segments of the population affected by suicide and depression. Our goal with this program is to allow older teens to practice for free this summer to equip them with the tools to help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety they may be experiencing while supporting their overall mental and physical health.”
