Consupedia Brings New Layer of Intelligence to Lifesum’s Nutrition App
Lifesum’s latest partnership brings academic-grade food data into its app, offering users a deeper understanding of how their meals impact their health
Lifesum has partnered with Consupedia, a food insights platform developed by researchers at Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology, to expand its food database capabilities.
The collaboration brings together Lifesum’s AI-powered food nutrition tracking app with Consupedia’s data, giving users deeper insight into the nutritional impact of their food choices.
“This partnership reflects our focus on enhancing our data capabilities,” Lifesum co-founder Marcus Gners said. “As a company dedicated to innovative nutrition and health technology, we’re constantly evolving our platform to better serve our users. We’re exploring how Consupedia’s research expertise will complement our platform to offer users additional information when making food choices that align with their personal health goals.”
It’s the latest move from Lifesum, which bolstered its nutrition app offerings last year following its acquisition of Lykon, a biomarker-based personalized nutrition company, so its app users can ensure they are staying on track and maintaining healthy habits. The nutrition tracking app also debuted a helpful multimodal tracker, allowing users to quickly and easily log meals via photo, voice, text or barcode.
“We are thrilled to partner with Lifesum to expand access to this crucial data,” Consupedia founder Roberto Rufo Gonzalez said. “Our team of AI researchers have spent years developing advanced models to assess the environmental, ethical and health impact of food products. By integrating our AI-powered insights with Lifesum’s leading nutrition technology, we’re transforming the way people understand their food.”
Last month, Lifesum announced a partnership with U.K.-based fitness app Fiit to tackle employee burnout, combining hyper-personalized nutrition with expert-led fitness.
