The event is presented by Heart, Body & Soul, Inc. (HBS), a Brooklyn-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the physical and mental health among Black men in underserved communities. credit: HBS The festival kicks off on Friday at 7 p.m. at Crown Hill Theatre with Sweat Fete, a 21-and-over dance fitness party featuring live DJ sets, adrenal mocktails created with Almave, a non-alcoholic blue agave spirit, and free blood pressure and glucose screenings courtesy of Memorial Sloan Kettering. Tickets are available here, with proceeds supporting HBS’ health initiatives. credit: HBS On Saturday, an open-to-all community block party will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Weeksville Heritage Center, featuring live DJs and performances, food, artisans, yoga and breathwork sessions, free grooming in the Self-Care Lounge, a healthcare career fair, a Soulful Sanctuary with massage, reiki and chiropractic care, an “Ask the Doctor” booth for one-on-one medical advice and a Healing Village with holistic practitioners and mental health experts. “Black men deserve joy, healing, and access to the resources that help them thrive,” HBS founder and multiple heart attack and stage III appendiceal cancer survivor Christopher Williams said. “This festival is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action.”The date has been set for a two-day celebration of wellness and community dedicated to advancing Black men’s health in Brooklyn and beyond The Black...
