Planet Fitness is partnering with Gymshark to drive sign-ups to its annual High School Summer Pass program, a move that comes as the U.K.-based activewear giant pushes deeper into fitness

Low-price fitness is swirling with competitors, all chasing budget-conscious members with flexible hours, amenities once reserved for premium clubs and, for some, the addition of Pilates classes

Planet Fitness has teamed up with a shark of its own: Gymshark, the U.K. activewear brand it’s tapped to help power its sixth annual High School Summer Pass program.

The program, open across the gym giant’s nearly 3,000 clubs in the U.S. and Canada, offers free admission to teens ages 14 to 19, from June 1 through Aug. 31.

New this year, Gymshark is giving every teen who signs up an exclusive 20% discount.

Clubs will host open house events for teens and families before the High School Summer Pass program officially kicks off.

The partnership comes as Gymshark is making its own move into the fitness space, an expansion that should finally answer what founder and CEO Ben Francis has said is the question he’s been fielding for over a decade.

“Our community has been crying out for it, and it’s something I’ve always dreamed about, but the timing and location had to be right,” Francis has said.

Gymshark Lifting Club will open in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood later this year.
