Peloton Welcomes Eminem
The fitness company is launching its first-ever boxing Artist Series with the rapper
Peloton’s first-ever live boxing event will honor Eminem’s music as well as Peloton’s newest fitness addition. The Artist Series will kick off on January 28th.
As members will be able to participate across multiple time zones, boxers will be motivated by Peloton’s instructors and Eminem’s hits. Peloton is giving new members two months of free boxing classes through its app.
The Eminem Artist Series from Peloton will allow users to listen to Eminem’s music on the Bike, Tread, or Mat.
“Peloton is amping up the Eminem class experience with an epic Artist Series takeover across multiple fitness modalities including Tread Bootcamp, Core Strength and Cycling classes,” Peloton shared on its site.
Peloton launched boxing late last year, but the news was buried under less positive headlines. Nevertheless, Peloton fans took to social media to celebrate the new addition to the Peloton lineup when it was first revealed. Boxing has been the most requested discipline by members, according to the interactive fitness platform, and members can expect more instructors to join as more boxing classes are added.
Boxing is a popular form of exercise with a large fan base. When they’ve had a stressful day, 60 percent of fitness consumers prefer a high-energy workout like boxing, according to a recent 2022 ClassPass trend report.
Peloton has been in turmoil recently, with one investor advising CEO John Foley to step down and industry experts debating whether Apple should buy Peloton. In terms of demand, the fitness company has seen a significant drop, with some experts claiming that Peloton should have sold six months ago. Despite the difficulties, Foley assured the Peloton team in a note that, while layoffs are likely, connected fitness is here to stay.
Peloton will release its final second quarter Fiscal 2022 results on Tuesday, February 8.
