New Filter Helps Retail Buyers Find Seed-Oil-Free Products

As interest in seed-oil-free foods grows, retail buyers now have a streamlined way to spot certified products

Buyers can now press pause on processed oils.

The Seed Oil Free Alliance has partnered with the product discovery platform RangeMe, making its Seed Oil Free Certified seal a searchable attribute for retail buyers across major chains, including Walmart, Kroger and Sprouts.

The move comes as sales of Seed Oil Free Certified products surged 216% in the first quarter of 2025, compared with the same period a year earlier, according to new retail data from SPINS.

With the integration, certified brands can now feature the seal directly on their RangeMe profile, helping buyers filter for verified products made without industrially processed seed oils. Once favored for their low cost and shelf stability, seed oils such as soybean, canola, sunflower and corn have drawn criticism from some consumers concerned about industrial processing and their role in ultra-processed foods, though others argue that moderation is key.

Better-for-you snack brand Every Body Eat, which has welcomed the added visibility.

“Displaying the Seed Oil Free Certified Seal on RangeMe signals to retailers that Every Body Eat snacks, like our cookie bites, snack thins and crackers, are made with real, high-quality ingredients like extra virgin olive oil and sustainably sourced palm oil,” Every Body Eat co-founder Trish Thomas said.

“It helps us stand out to buyers who prioritize clean-label products and care about ingredient integrity as much as we do.”
