Merrithew Upgrades Toronto Studio With Pilates Training Academy, Expanded Offerings

The upgraded studio will feature the Stott Pilates Academy alongside unlimited mat and reformer memberships

Pilates equipment and education brand Merrithew is relaunching its Toronto flagship in January 2026 with the Stott Pilates Academy and new class offerings, aligning with the modality’s continued rise.

The upgraded studio, located at Yonge and Bloor in Yorkville, will be built around Merrithew’s Stott Pilates concept and equipped with high-end reformers and purpose-built classrooms for instructor training.

Developed by Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, Stott Pilates is described as a contemporary evolution of Joseph Pilates’ original method that integrates modern exercise science and rehabilitation principles. A waitlist has been created ahead of the opening.

“With our new flagship studio and Stott Pilates Academy in Toronto, we’re building Merrithew’s global hub for innovation in movement,” Merrithew CEO Jim Heidenreich said. “It’s where we’ll test and refine new programming, train the best instructors and explore how Pilates supports performance, recovery and lifelong health before sharing those insights to our community worldwide.”

The location will debut a membership model that offers unlimited access to both mat and reformer classes under one plan. Members will have options for assessments, private sessions and discounts on courses and workshops.

Beyond its studio revamp, Merrithew plans to roll out a speaker series in early 2026, bringing international thought leaders and in-house experts to Toronto to discuss performance, rehabilitation, and mental well-being.
