The HVLP operator is bringing the AI revolution to its personal training ecosystem, amplifying personalization to encourage consistency and engagement in and outside of the gym

Vasa Fitness is upgrading what personal training means at the high-value, low-price (HVLP) operator with the launch of its new app powered by artificial intelligence.

The app, which was created in partnership with Demotu, extends Vasa’s personal training offerings beyond the gym floor with enhanced personalization that caters to members’ goals and abilities.

“This is a meaningful step forward not just for Vasa, but for the HVLP category as a whole,” said Vasa Fitness COO Chris Griebe.

“We’re combining expert coaching with intelligent technology in a way that simply hasn’t existed at this price point,” he continued. “Our members deserve more than access to a great fitness center—they deserve direction, personalization, and real support every time they walk into the gym.”

The personal training insights are built from core components: a 3D movement analysis and InBody composition scan that members complete during an in-person consultation, and AI which refines the fully personalized training program created by trainers. As members progress with their programs, AI will change the structure to reflect their progress.

Between personal training sessions the app provides trainer-prescribed workouts, where members can also track their progress, access exercise demos and stay on top of their plan to encourage consistency.

The app is a component of Vasa’s larger personal training ecosystem, which includes one-on-one and group coaching.

“This isn’t about replacing trainers — it’s about empowering them,” Griebe said. “Technology allows our trainers to deliver smarter, more personalized programs at scale, so every member gets a plan that works for them.”

All Vasa memberships include a free 60-minute personal training consultation — a starting point for members to understand their body, define their goals and build a plan with expert guidance, which will now have the additional support of the app.

Vasa’s move is a part of a wave of fitness brands leaning into the AI revolution.

Technogym recently launched its own AI Ecosystem, which pulls from a dataset of 38 million users, includes features such as Adaptive Training workout programs that continuously adapt to a user’s progress, data and goals to enhance and streamline results, as well as an AI coach.

Les Mills also announced a partnership with AI fitness app Zing to bring its group fitness programs to the app’s users who utilize adaptive AI, that offers real-time form tracking and body composition analysis among its features. The unprecedented move could be a pilot for whether AI fitness apps can encourage fitness enthusiasts to migrate to the gym floor over time.
