Strong Pilates Reaches 100th Studio Milestone
The Australian boutique fitness franchise hits 100 studios with the opening of its Garwood, New Jersey, location and plans 150 more as it scales across major U.S. markets
Strong Pilates is celebrating the opening of its 100th studio this weekend in Garwood, New Jersey, as the Australian-born fitness franchise ramps up its U.S. expansion with more than 150 additional locations in the pipeline.
The milestone comes amid Pilates topping ClassPass bookings for the second year in a row, with reservations up 84% since 2023.
The fitness brand, which blends reformer Pilates with cardio and strength training using its Rowformer and Bikeformer machines, has confirmed an aggressive rollout strategy prioritizing major U.S. markets, including Greater New York City, Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Francisco, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Brooklyn, San Jose, Greater Boston, Greater Chicago and Orlando. The expansion plan includes 96 studios developed in partnership with fitness operator Momentic Studios, along with 30 single- and multi-site franchise agreements and up to 30 corporate-owned locations.

“Reaching our 100th studio in just six years is more than a milestone — it’s a powerful testament to the strength and scalability of Strong’s hybrid fitness model,” Strong Pilates co-founders Michael Ramsey and Mark Armstrong said in a joint statement. “As demand continues to accelerate across global markets, our entry into Garwood marks a pivotal moment in our U.S. growth strategy. With over 150 studios already confirmed across the U.S. and a robust pipeline in development, we’re accelerating our investment to solidify Strong as the global leader in premium, boutique fitness experiences.”
The Garwood studio, located at 406 South Ave, will open to the public on Saturday, August 9. It marks the fifth Strong Pilates location in the U.S. and joins a global network spanning 14 countries. The brand has recorded more than 4.6 million bookings to date and supports a community of over 37,000 members and 1,000 certified instructors worldwide.

Strong Pilates classes are built around a 45-minute, high-intensity format that combines Pilates, strength and cardio. Members can choose from multiple daily sessions and class types, each led by certified trainers who offer modifications for injuries or limitations. First-timers can start with a Beginner Class focused on mastering the Rowformer, while moreadvanced options include Strong Body, a full-body session with cardio bursts and Strong Loaded, which incorporates dumbbells and heavier resistance for strength development. Also available are Pilates Only, centered on dynamic movement and control, and Strong Sweat, designed to test endurance with high-volume, stamina-focused training.
According to the boutique fitness franchise, it has doubled its total network revenue over the past 12 months to $32 million. Average revenue per studio rose nearly 15% during the same period, with more than half of all locations now operated by multi-site franchisees.
