Personal Training with a Personal Touch at Snap Fitness

Snap Fitness uses cutting-edge technology while bringing a human-first approach to training to help spur franchising success

Snap Fitness, the Minnesota-based franchisor of 24/7 gyms, knows the bridge between personal training and modern technology is a rather delicate one.

On one side of things, anyone enlisting the help of a personal trainer likely values that human-to-human connection, which tech can sometimes compromise. On the other, neglecting tech altogether has its own downsides regarding efficiency and organization.

But with its Personal Training Programming Tool, a feature in the Snap App that enables trainers and members to better design, deliver and enjoy workout experiences, the brand has struck a balance, established a connection and already started seeing success.

“It’s obviously no surprise that global fitness is trending towards tech and digital,” said Rose Minar, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at Lift Brands. “We wanted to support our personal trainers and members with a solution that made it easier and more enjoyable to work out in our gyms. In such a competitive environment, we’re hoping to make fitness programs more accessible, convenient and engaging, no matter where our members are in their fitness journey or how busy their schedule is.”

Easy on the User and Industry

For trainers, the programming tool grants them access to the app’s lengthy exercise database, which includes 800+ training videos along with detailed instructions to craft user-tailored workout programs. Users can then access those plans with ease, log workouts and track progress via the app.

Keeping things simple for both parties was a focal point in developing the tool from its inception all the way through to the final product stage.

“This tool is packed with features, but we really focused on keeping it simple and user-friendly,” said Minar. “It eliminates the hassle of paper logs and provides trainers with valuable data to help them optimize their clients’ performance. We want this to be a seamless and efficient experience for both trainer and client, letting them focus on achieving results.”

Impactful as the programming tool is, it’s not here to throw the personal training game into disarray.

“We want to be very clear that this tool is not intended to replace our incredible personal trainers,” Minar said. “Instead, it’s designed to complement their skills and expertise and support them in delivering exceptional coaching.”

“It streamlines their workflow and helps them connect with clients, and it even opens up new business channels like hybrid training,” she added. “Ultimately, the tool just allows our trainers to dedicate more of their time, effort and experience to their clients to better help them achieve their fitness goals.”

Franchising Implications

With over 1,000 franchise locations, the Personal Training Programming Tool’s benefits trickle down to create an ocean of satisfied operators and end users. It also presents franchisees with a central hub to manage their personal training services, track engagement, client compliance and program effectiveness from within the Snap Fitness portal.

The Personal Training Programming Tool also serves as an asset in terms of recruitment. The product attracts talented trainers, persuading them to come work at Snap Fitness so they can enjoy all the aforementioned features and benefits.

Those also alleviate the weight franchise partners carry. By taking care of these marginal, but time and energy-consuming duties, operators are cleared to concentrate more on what really matters.

“It really streamlines administrative tasks, reduces overhead, and frees up franchisees to focus on what they do best – providing an amazing fitness experience and growing their business,” said Minar. “From a franchising perspective, this tool offers significant advantages.”
