Orangetheory Taps ISSA for Instructor Recruitment & Training
The fitness education organization will help Orangetheory take its coaching to the next level as it continues to expand
The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), an online fitness and wellness educator, has teamed up with Orangetheory Fitness to provide customized recruitment solutions and “up-skill” Orangetheory coaches.
Orangetheory, which launched in 2010, harnesses the power of a science-backed, heart rate-based interval training with its one-hour, full-body workouts. The boutique fitness concept promises more calorie-burning post-workout than regular exercise. Members use heart rate monitors, which display real-time results on screens in the studio as Orangetheory coaches ensure the proper level of training.
The concept has been a hit with fitness enthusiasts, growing even during the pandemic years. Orangetheory is planning 100 new studios by the end of this year with hopes of doubling that amount in 2024.
“ISSA’s mission is to change the world for the better by promoting healthier living through fitness, and this aligns perfectly with Orangetheory’s ethos,” said Andrew Wyant, ISSA CEO. “They will now leverage our deep membership, recruitment solutions and education expertise to streamline staffing and obtain the highest quality trainers in the industry.”
ISSA currently has 500,000 students and works with clubs, boutique studios and fitness facilities.
“We continually work to forge partnerships toward bettering the fitness industry, and our new alliance with Orangetheory Fitness is one great example of this,” said Craig Bradley, ISSA’s chief growth officer. “We look forward to placing highly-trained fitness pros in their facilities to achieve continued success.”
The online fitness educator recently unveiled a program to help military members launch a career in the fitness industry.
