As part of its annual Sex Hormones Awareness Week, Mira’s new initiative aims to accelerate progress in women’s health by recognizing game-changing work across science, technology and advocacy
Mira, the San Francisco-based hormonal health company known for its at-home hormone testing platform, has launched the Hormone Innovators Awards 2025, an awards program solely dedicated to advancements in hormonal health. Set against the backdrop of Mira’s annual Sex Hormones Awareness Week, the new initiative is designed to champion innovators who are reshaping the landscape of women’s health and driving critical attention to an area historically underfunded and overlooked.
Timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of hormone discovery, the Awards seek to elevate the scientists, technologists, advocates and companies leading the charge on closing the gender gap in healthcare innovation. Women’s hormonal health remains marginalized: in 2024, women’s health startups received just 2.3% of venture capital funding within healthcare, according to Mira.
“For far too long, women’s health has been underfunded, undervalued and underserved,” said Sylvia Kang, CEO and founder of Mira. “The innovators we’re recognizing are not only advancing groundbreaking science but also reshaping an industry that has historically overlooked half the population. By championing investment and innovation in hormonal health, we can drive lasting change for generations to come.”
