Life Time’s LT Games Kick Off With 150 Athletes, Expansion on the Mind

Life Time’s new hybrid fitness competition is bringing treadmills, barbells and bragging rights to Minneapolis. In time, the athletic country club operator plans to stage events in other cities and a national championship

Life Time’s first-ever LT Games arrive in Minneapolis this weekend, drawing 150 athletes from 25 states and provinces, including some of the biggest names in hybrid competition.

The two-day event, held at Life Time Target Center and presented by performance brand Ten Thousand, will feature elite competitors such as three-time DEKA World Champion and Hyrox Elite Terra Jackson, three-time Hyrox World Champion Lauren Weeks and endurance standout Kris Ruglowski, a Leadville 100 finisher and Hyrox Elite 15 athlete. CrossFit Games veterans and NoBull athletes Cole Sager and Alec Smith will also take the floor, as well as Ten Thousand athlete Jack Driscoll, Hyrox Champion Dylan Scott, Kinetik athlete Nick O’Sullivan and DEKA World Championship qualifier Janelle Teal.

For spectators, entry is free, and the event will stream live on the Life Time app and YouTube, with highlighted heats scheduled Saturday, October 25, from 2–4 p.m.

Seemingly in competition with viral fitness racing concept Hyrox, the LT Games feature 17 stages that blend treadmill runs, rowing, ski erg intervals and strength elements, from deadlifts to box jumps. Each stage uses a weight-to-repetition scaling system that lets athletes balance intensity and endurance, an approach Life Time says makes the format challenging yet accessible. The competition builds on months of internal testing, dedicated LT Games training classes and an eight-week prep program launched through the Life Time app.

“The vision for Life Time’s LT Games is to set a new standard in the hybrid competition space,” LT Games race director Wes Robertson said ahead of the event. “Our goal is to create a premium experience for both athletes and spectators through our clubs, coaches and equipment.”

Life Time says the event is just the beginning. Early plans include expanding LT Games into a series of regional qualifiers and eventually a national championship.
