JetSet Pilates Eyes 2 Boston-Area Studios With New Franchisee

JetSet Pilates is planting roots in Boston, beginning with Wellesley
JetSet Pilates has opened its first Massachusetts location as it kicks off a broader push into the Greater Boston area. The 2,000-square-foot studio, located at 98 Central St. in Wellesley, began offering classes on June 23.
The studio is owned by John Onat, a former tech entrepreneur who first discovered the upscale Pilates brand as a client and now plans to open two additional JetSet locations in the Boston area.
“I trust the JetSet model because I’ve sweated through it myself,” Onat said. “I wanted to build something people in my community could walk into, feel and experience, and being the trailblazer for JetSet in Massachusetts allows me to apply my entrepreneurial experience in a new way.”
JetSet Pilates founder and brand president Tamara Galinsky sees Onat’s dual perspective as both a former client and seasoned entrepreneur as a strategic advantage in launching the brand’s presence in a new market.
“John’s passion and firsthand knowledge of our model make him an ideal fit to spearhead JetSet’s expansion into Boston,” Galinsky said. “His entrepreneurial experience and business acumen will be instrumental in bringing the brand to Massachusetts, and we’re excited to support him and watch him grow as he builds momentum across the region.”
Earlier this year, JetSet Pilates secured an undisclosed strategic investment from Purchase Capital to support its national expansion, including bolstering its franchising infrastructure, instructor training programs and overall client experience. As part of the deal, Nicholas J. Singer, founder and managing partner of Purchase Capital, joined JetSet’s board.
Beyond Boston, JetSet Pilates has identified some of Tennessee’s hottest neighborhoods and Houston, Texas, as key growth markets.
