Powered by Schwinn, the new continuing education course trains fitness professionals in cycling science, class design and performance-based coaching

The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is teaming up with Core Health & Fitness to give indoor cycling instructors new tools to incorporate data into workouts

ACE has launched CoreFit Cycle powered by Schwinn, a continuing education course designed to prepare new and experienced instructors to lead safe, structured and results-driven indoor cycling classes.

The online program is offered in partnership with CoreFit Collective, Core Health & Fitness’ programming and education platform, and represents a redesigned version of the longstanding Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor Training program.

“Indoor cycling has maintained its popularity with fitness seekers because of its versatility and adaptability,” said Lauren Provenzano, ACE vice president of product and innovation.

“ACE is proud to help exercise professionals meet members where they are by providing access to the most up-to-date, evidence-based education on one of today’s most enduring training modalities,” she added.

Bringing More Data to the Ride

The program blends Schwinn’s cycling principles with CoreFit Collective’s coaching framework, teaching instructors how to incorporate performance metrics such as power, rotations per minute (RPM), heart rate and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) into their classes.

The course also covers proper bike setup, ride planning and programming, along with communication and motivational techniques designed to improve rider engagement and retention.

The performance-based approach comes as fitness consumers have become increasingly accustomed to seeing data incorporated into their workouts, whether through wearables, connected equipment or fitness apps.

“We’re excited to partner with ACE to bring this CoreFit Collective course to a broader audience,” said Jamie Nicholls, director of programming and education at Core Health & Fitness. “This collaboration will give more fitness professionals the tools and confidence to inspire riders, build meaningful connections and deliver exceptional cycling experiences.”

The partnership also gives Core another avenue to leverage Schwinn, one of the best-known brands in indoor cycling. Schwinn sits within Core Health & Fitness’ commercial equipment portfolio alongside Star Trac, StairMaster and Nautilus Commercial.

CoreFit Cycle powered by Schwinn is available now through ACE.
