As wellness becomes an increasingly valuable selling point in real estate, tourism and in the workplace, the next phase may be more personal — and wearable.

Wearable company Whoop has partnered with Wasl Group, one of Dubai’s largest real estate developers, to bring biometric data directly into residential communities.

Through the collaboration, Whoop’s screen-free bands will be introduced to Wasl’s employees, customers and partners, and were also recently offered to buyers during the sales launch of Ashwood Estates at Jumeirah Golf Estates, a luxury residential community.

Wasl says it plans a wider rollout of the wearables through Wasl Fit, its fitness and engagement initiative spanning events, sports activations and year-round programming.

The deal comes as the United Arab Emirates wellness economy continues to accelerate and has seen fitness operators like Anytime Fitness, BodyBase and UBX lean in. According to the Global Wellness Institute, the country’s wellness economy is now valued at $40.8 billion, supported by national initiatives such as the UAE’s National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 and growth in wellness real estate, which reached $1.4 billion in 2024.

“This partnership with Wasl reflects a shared commitment to creating environments that prioritize data-driven well-being, whether at home, at work or within the broader community,” Whoop vice president of enterprise Todd Stiefler said. “Together, we’re excited to empower people across Dubai to take control of their health through meaningful insights and proactive habits.”

Beyond real estate, Whoop has been steadily expanding its footprint in Dubai. The human performance company is also partnering with the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025, supporting the citywide initiative that encourages residents to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days.

As part of the effort, Whoop is providing wearable-driven insights around sleep, recovery and strain, alongside on-the-ground activations and community programming across the city.
