TRX, BlazePod Partner To Accelerate Mind-Body Training
Functional training brand TRX adding cognitive and reaction performance to its offerings as brain-based tools reshape how athletes train and recover
The next edge in training isn’t heavier weight or longer reps. It’s what happens in the split second before you move.
TRX, the functional training and fitness education brand, is teaming up with BlazePod, a light-based reaction training company, to fold cognitive drills into its ecosystem, creating co-branded bundles, shared content programs and joint events. TRX-branded programming will also appear inside BlazePod’s app.
“TRX has always stood for movement, performance and results,” TRX CEO Jack Daly said. “Partnering with BlazePod allows us to merge world-class functional strength training with cognitive and reaction training, offering a more complete performance solution. Whether you’re an athlete, a fighter or rehabbing from injury, together we can help people move, recover and perform at their best.”
It’s been a busy month for TRX. In addition to its new ties with BlazePod, it recently expanded its partnership with boutique fitness franchise Sweat440, bringing the TRX YBell Pro, a multi-modality strength tool, into all 25 studios. The strength-based fitness franchise has 100-plus additional locations in development across the U.S.
BlazePod adds a different edge: decision-making and reaction under pressure. Founded in 2017, the light-based reaction company raised $8.5 million in a Series A round led by AP Partners in 2021. Its platform combines an app with portable flashing light pods that cue users to move quickly and accurately. The goal is for athletes to develop sharper instincts and quicker processing, with the BlazePod offering more than 200 drills and customization options that target sport performance, therapy and general fitness.
BlazePod currently sells three bundles geared to different users: an option for individual athletes, a trainer bundle for coaching environments and an elevated ultimate trainer package that includes the app’s pro membership plan.
“This collaboration with TRX is about maximizing human potential,” BlazePod founder and CEO Yaniv Shneiderman said. “Our mission has always been to empower people with innovative training experiences to push them to peak performance. By joining forces with TRX, we’re creating programs and experiences that will raise the bar for sport conditioning, therapy and performance training worldwide.”
The partnership comes as the fitness and wellness industry leans into the connection between neuromuscular training and cognitive resilience. Brain-based tools are continuing to hit the market, from NextSense’s EEG wearable that actively improves sleep and focus to Nike’s exploration of robotic footwear and its upcoming neuroscience-based shoes developed to help athletes stay focused and more connected to their movement.
