Called Tonal 2 Glacier, the new model features a lighter finish, a reflective display and built-in accessory storage, offering a more design-focused alternative to the company’s existing wall-mounted strength training system. The launch marks the first time Tonal has offered customers a choice of hardware colors, an effort to make its equipment more appealing to consumers looking to integrate fitness technology into their homes. Glacier features the same underlying technology and training capabilities as the standard Tonal 2, but adds a mirror-like glass display that reflects its surroundings when the device isn’t in use. The model also includes integrated storage for accessories and a more streamlined design. “Tonal 2 Glacier brings our full training experience to a new design, giving people more choice in how strength training fits into their homes,” Bartee told Athletech News. “The lighter finish, reflective display, and integrated storage give people a device that reflects their style, with the same personalized training that motivates them to get stronger,” he added. “We want strength training to be part of everyday life, and that starts with building something new that people want displayed in their homes.” The new system is priced at $4,795, with a required $59.95 monthly membership under a 12-month commitment. Accessory bundles are sold separately. credit: Tonal Tonal Makes Moves Under New Leadership The product launch is the latest development for Tonal under Bartee, who has been moving to expand the company’s reach since coming on board in February. Tonal recently partnered with WeWork to bring its connected strength training equipment into select coworking spaces, giving the brand another way to introduce its technology to potential customers outside the home. The company has also introduced a rental program, offering consumers an alternative to purchasing its premium-priced equipment outright. Founded in 2015, Tonal combines digital resistance technology, AI-powered coaching and personalized workout programming in a wall-mounted system designed to replace traditional strength training equipment. The company says it has served more than 300,000 members since its founding, with users collectively lifting more than 274 billion pounds through its platform.
