The HVLP operator is rolling out its largest reinvestment yet, upgrading equipment, amenities and branding as it brings boutique-style classes to the big-box gym model
The Edge Fitness Clubs is getting a makeover with its largest reinvestment to date.
The high-value, low-price (HVLP) gym is pouring $25 million into equipment, amenities and branding upgrades ahead of the new year, before the inevitable peak in gym-goers going after their 2026 resolutions.
Renovations have already begun in several locations across the country, including new state-of-the-art equipment, expanded amenities and branded updates that elevate the in-club experience.
“We’re entering a new era for The Edge,” said founder and president Vinny Sansone.
“This $25 million-plus reinvestment strengthens our position as one of the most innovative and accessible fitness brands in the country,” Sansone added. “We’re bringing the premium, design-forward experiences typically found in luxury fitness clubs into a big-box gym environment — at a price point that stays true to our mission.”
The upgrades come as the operator has brought popular boutique fitness modalities under the roof of a big-box gym.
Earlier this year, The Edge introduced studio classes including strength training, reformer Pilates and infrared yoga. The new upgrades will bring the classes to all locations, along with upgraded strength equipment.
“As the fitness and health landscape evolves, we’re building toward a more integrated vertical — one that blends ‘boutique-in-a-box’ studio fitness, strength training, recovery, wellness and smarter nutrition and progress tracking into a single, cohesive experience,” Sansone said.
“We’re upgrading every touchpoint of the in-club journey so our members — current and future — benefit from cutting-edge strength equipment and elevated amenities that deliver true boutique fitness experiences…as well as a forward-looking brand standard designed for the next generation of health-focused consumers — those seeking sustainable results, performance and long-term well-being, not quick fixes,” he added.

2025 has seen notable benchmarks for the operator, including growing to over 350,000 members nationwide. The Edge currently operates 43 locations in 9 states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, with memberships that start at $10 per month.

Sansone revealed to Athletech News back in June that he’s eyeing new markets and expansion as The Edge continues to find success in the fitness industry, which he credits to its member-first culture.
“What makes us special is our culture and our people,” he told ATN .”Our clubs aren’t just gyms, they’re communities. To me, the gym — or health club — is one of the few places you can attend by yourself and meet like-minded people.”
