Prelude Growth Partners’ investment in the celeb-loved biotech skincare brand comes as beauty and wellness converge
OneSkin, a female-founded biotech skincare startup, has secured $20 million from Prelude Growth Partners after the growth equity firm approached the company with an unsolicited offer, providing an opportunity for OneSkin to bring in a new partner for its next stage of growth.
The Series A funding, completed last month, will accelerate OneSkin’s expansion in the fast-growing “skinspan” market, a category at the intersection of beauty and wellness that is drawing interest from both consumers and investors.
With the deal, OneSkin joins Prelude Growth’s portfolio of female-founded beauty and wellness brands, which includes Sol de Janeiro, Summer Fridays and Skin Pharm.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome Prelude Growth Partners to the OneSkin family,” OneSkin co-founder and CEO Carolina Reis Oliveira, PhD, said. “Their team’s expertise in building modern consumer brands and their enthusiasm for our science-driven approach made this a natural fit. We weren’t looking for new capital, but their passion and belief in our vision made this an opportunity to expand our resources and work alongside people we deeply admire. We got ourselves a dream team.”
The investment comes on the heels of a micro-trends report from the Global Wellness Institute, which identified a shift toward science-backed skin health. The report noted growing consumer demand for clinically proven, biotech-driven solutions that work at the cellular level, including neuro-cosmetics that influence mood and regenerative ingredients that boost resilience and longevity, aligning with OneSkin’s mission to extend skinspan.
Unlike traditional beauty and skincare products that focus on surface appearance, OneSkin, founded by a team of female PhD scientists, targets the root causes of aging by reducing senescent cells, which accumulate over time and can drive inflammation, collagen loss and visible signs of aging.
In a strategy increasingly common among emerging wellness brands, OneSkin has built its product line around a proprietary peptide, OS-01, formulated to help skin behave more like younger skin. The ingredient is featured in the company’s topical and supplement offerings, including OS-01 Face, Body and Eye, as well as newer launches OS-01 Lip and Hair.
“OneSkin’s cutting-edge science, novel proprietary technology, leadership in skin longevity and compelling brand are truly unique in the category,” Prelude Growth co-founder and managing partner Alicia Sontag said. “ We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to partner with Carolina, Alessandra and the team at OneSkin to support them in creating an iconic, powerhouse brand of the future.”
In an interview earlier this summer with E! News, starlet and Pvolve advocate Jennifer Aniston discussed her approach to beauty and longevity, sharing hydration tips and revealing she uses OneSkin’s OS-01 Face, a product she first spotted on Instagram.
Elsewhere in the fast-growing skin health market, U.K.-based FaceGym, known for its high-intensity “facial fitness” workouts, recently landed investment from Reliance Retail to expand into India.
The brand, which blends massage, lymphatic drainage and muscle stimulation to sculpt and tone skin without needles or downtime, plans to roll out studios in major cities and within select Tira stores over the next five years
