NYC To Host Biggest Sober Dance Party in US History With Daybreaker, FlavCity
Daybreaker is scaling experiential wellness with a series of alcohol-free in-person events, highlighting opportunities for health-aligned brands
Two wellness disruptors are crashing the Big Apple, swapping champagne flutes for endorphins and bass drops at Pier 17 as global sober dance movement Daybreaker teams up with clean-label brand FlavCity to throw what organizers call the largest alcohol-free dance party in U.S. history.
Scheduled for September 27 at Gitano NYC, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and taps into the growing interest in wellness-centered and alcohol-free events. Attendees can expect a morning workout led by Housework founder Sydney Miller and a headline set from Austin Millz, all against a backdrop of jungle greenery and a sober-but-spirited dance floor.
The event is part of Daybreaker’s global “Have Fun, Be Nice” tour, a series pushing sober celebration as a new standard for connection, particularly among Gen Z.
Sober Fun Is Becoming Big Business
It also comes as alcohol consumption in the U.S. hits record lows, with Gallup recently reporting that just 54% of adults now drink, the steepest decline in nearly 90 years of tracking. Other fitness and wellness players are also taking note of the shift. SoulCycle has partnered with premium non-alcoholic retailer The Zero Proof to offer riders alcohol-free beverages alongside classes, with a national rollout planned.
“This is more than a morning party, it’s a cultural reset,” Daybreaker co-founder and CEO Radha Agrawal said. “We’re showing that joy, belonging and human connection are amplified, not dimmed, without alcohol. Partnering with FlavCity makes perfect sense: together we’re proving that health and happiness can and should coexist.”
Attendees can sample FlavCity’s clean-label protein smoothies, electrolytes and preview a new category launching later this fall.
The September event will be Daybreaker’s largest U.S. gathering of 2025, following its first-ever festival at Hackney Bridge in London, which drew thousands earlier this summer.
Ahead of its New York City party, Daybreaker is rolling out several events this month, including a Sauna Rave at Othership’s soon-to-launch Williamsburg location, a yoga and dance session at social wellness club Bathe in Austin, Texas, and a morning dance party in Denver with free coffee and matcha shots alongside partners such as AG1, Happy Products, electrolyte brand Love and Magic Mind.
