The parent company of Cheribundi and GoodBelly Wellness Shots closed Series 3 funding led by ECP Growth as the market for better-for-you foods and drinks grows

NextFoods, the parent company behind Cheribundi and GoodBelly Wellness Shots, has secured a major investment toward functional nutrition products.

Closing a $10 million Series 3 funding round, led by investment firm ECP Growth, the company is looking to reinvest the capital into its product innovation in the trendiest functional wellness categories, including gut health, muscle recovery and sleep.

“Consumers are increasingly prioritizing gut health, sleep, and muscle recovery,” said NextFoods CEO Marc Seguin.

NextFoods’ flagship brands, Cheribundi and GoodBelly, offer nutrition products geared towards everyday wellness.

Cheribundi is known for its tart cherry juice products, whose anti-inflammatory properties can boost muscle recovery and reduce soreness, in addition to its latest gummy launch, which provides the twofold benefits of improved sleep and recovery. GoodBelly’s product line includes wellness shots filled with probiotics and immune-boosting ingredients to support gut health and overall wellness.

“This investment gives our team the fuel to execute at full speed: expanding distribution, accelerating our innovation roadmap, and deepening our commitment to retail partners,” he added. “With strong category tailwinds and exceptional momentum across both GoodBelly and Cheribundi, we’re entering our next phase of growth.”

The investment will jumpstart the company’s plans to expand brand presence through national retail partnerships and marketing.

The popularity of functional wellness products and supplements is holding strong — and only growing. The gummy supplement market is poised for massive growth, while airports are stocking functional energy drinks like Odyssey, and beverage giant Celsius rebranded with a holistic wellness campaign earlier this year.
