Level Fitness Clubs to Open 5th Location, Plans Long Island Expansion

The family-owned New York operator is preparing to open in Port Chester, with memberships starting around $60 per month

Level Fitness Clubs is gearing up to open its fifth location, and the family-owned operator already has its sights set on its next market.

The new club is expected to open in Port Chester, New York, within the next month, joining Level locations in Pelham Manor, Yorktown, Somers and Thornwood. Following the opening, Level plans to expand onto Long Island as it pursues more significant growth over the next several years.

“We’re planning to expand onto Long Island after Port Chester and have been exploring in the North Shore of the Island with no set location just yet,” operations manager Deena Porcello told Athletech News.

The expansion comes as Level looks to carve out a position between traditional gyms and significantly more expensive luxury health clubs. Base memberships run around $60 per month and include access to the main fitness floor, while the highest membership tier costs just under $100 per month and includes the club’s full slate of amenities and guest access.

Level Fitness Clubs says the Port Chester club is designed with serious strength training in mind, featuring equipment from Arsenal Strength and Atlantis Strength alongside select pieces from other brands.

The location will also be a Hyrox-affiliated gym, offering Hyrox classes alongside the brand’s traditional Level Method group fitness programming and reformer Pilates.

A recovery room will round out the club’s amenities, giving members access to training, boutique-style classes and recovery under one roof.

Level started as Kinetic Sports Club, a 50,000-square-foot family sports club that opened in Pelham Manor in 2013. The company later rebranded as Level Fitness Clubs and expanded to Yorktown before adding Somers and Thornwood in 2024.

Now, with Port Chester on the way and Long Island next on its roadmap, the company is preparing to accelerate its footprint.

“We’re planning significant growth over the next few years,” Porcello said.
