The fitness racing giant expects more than two million athletes this season, adding new host cities and extending select events to as many as 10 days to keep pace with growth

Hyrox is expanding both the reach and scale of its global race calendar, underscoring the rapid rise of fitness competitions as the company expects participation to surpass 2 million athletes during the 2026/27 season.

The highly popular fitness-racing brand announced the “next wave” of its 2026/27 race schedule on Wednesday, revealing a calendar that spans 107 race weekends across six continents while introducing new host cities including San Diego, Portland, Oregon; Bari, Italy; and Nagoya, Japan.

Perhaps more notably, Hyrox said several events will expand beyond their traditional one or two-day formats into residencies lasting as long as 10 days, a move intended to accommodate record demand in some of its biggest markets.

The expanded calendar follows another year of breakneck growth for Hyrox. The company said more than 1.5 million athletes participated during the 2025/26 season across more than 200 days of racing, with participation expected to climb to more than 2 million competitors this year.

“Every new season demonstrates just how quickly Hyrox is growing,” said co-founder and CEO Christian Toetzke. “With more than two million athletes expected to race this season and over 100 race weekends across six continents, we’re seeing unprecedented global demand for fitness racing.”

Hyrox also said its Youngstars youth competition will continue expanding in North America during the 2026/27 season.

The season will culminate with the Hyrox World Championships in Hong Kong in June 2027.
