Freemotion: Featured Fitness Franchise Supplier

Freemotion Fitness is the commercial division of iFIT Health & Fitness – a global fitness and technology leader, 40+ years strong. Freemotion was founded by industry legend Roy Simonson in 1999 and was acquired by iFIT (then ICON Health and Fitness) in 2001.

For the past 25 years, Freemotion has been a pioneer in the truest sense. It introduced cable-based strength training (1999), the Incline Trainer (2001), the REFLEX™ Treadmill (2010), and the first road-simulating indoor bike (2013) to the fitness industry.

The cable-based strength machines, in particular – which made it possible to train in multiple planes – were revolutionary and effectively launched the concept and application of ‘functional training’.

More recently, with the introduction of the 22 SERIES, Freemotion launched the first truly connected cardio training solution for health clubs.

Founded in Colorado Springs, the company relocated to the iFIT Health & Fitness headquarters in Logan, Utah, in 2009.

What specialized solutions does your company offer to meet the needs of the fitness and wellness franchise industry?

The 22 SERIES – the first connected cardio training solution for health clubs.

GENESIS Dual Cable Cross – designed as an inclusive fitness machine, the Dual Cable Cross’ open design makes it wheelchair accessible and welcoming to users of all abilities. It is the only machine that meets the ASTM inclusive standards –  a set of international standards for inclusive fitness equipment.

The REFLEX™ Treadmill features the revolutionary, proprietary REFLEX Cushioning. It provides exercisers with a much gentler and more productive run experience, setting an entirely new standard for running machines. Due to its durability – and the comfort it offers members – it has become the preferred treadmill for franchised studios and clubs.

The Incline Trainer, with its -3% decline to +30% incline provides exercisers the ability to build muscle and burn calories faster – making it the perfect machine for clubs and studios wanting to offer their members a hugely efficient workout.

Why should franchise owners choose your company over competing providers?

At Freemotion, we live innovation each and every day. Every treadmill, exercise bike, elliptical or strength conditioning machine we create transforms how users experience fitness.

As part of the iFIT family – which includes the iFIT digital content platform and at-home NordicTrack and ProForm brands – Freemotion also provides club and studio owners with a ready-made omnichannel solution.
