Zumba, Noom Partner on Fitness Content, Instructor Coaching
Zumba instructors can gain an edge by becoming Noom Mindset Coaches as the dance-fitness brand continues to expand its reach
Zumba has partnered with Noom to offer its fitness content to members of the digital healthcare platform and provide Zumba instructors a pathway to become Noom Mindset Coaches and grow their professional network.
The news was announced at Zincon, Zumba’s annual high-energy instructor convention held in Orlando. Now in its 15th year, the event, attended by nearly 5,000 Zumba instructors from over 80 countries, has been referred to as a “four-day party” by Zumba CEO Alberto Perlman.
It’s the latest cross-collaboration from the global dance fitness leader, which recently teamed with Samsung Health in a direct-to-consumer move that grants Samsung Health users exclusive access to Zumba classes.
Zumba instructors interested in becoming Noom Mindset Coaches will learn the platform’s combination of psychology, technology and human coaching methods — available as a complimentary offering for a limited time.
“Through a combination of psychology, technology, and coaching, Noom’s proven programming is designed to improve whole-person health,” Noom CEO Geoff Cook said. “This is why we are thrilled to partner with Zumba to offer our members access to engaging and effective fitness content while providing Zumba Instructors with the opportunity to become Noom Mindset Coaches.”
“Separately, each of our platforms has helped millions of people meet their personal health and wellness goals,” Cook added. “Together, we will enable these individuals to cultivate even healthier habits and transform their lives for the better.”
Perlman, a 2024 fitness and wellness Power Player, noted that teaming up with Noom allows the dance-fitness company to extend its reach and impact by providing individuals with the tools and support needed to make lasting lifestyle changes.
“At Zumba, we are committed to empowering people to live healthier, happier lives through the joy of dance and fitness,” Perlman said. “Beyond this, we are always looking for ways to support our instructors and give them access to growth opportunities.”
In an interview with Athletech News last year, Perlman emphasized the passion within the Zumba brand, which has enjoyed over two decades in the fitness industry and continues to be one of the most popular in-person fitness offerings at gyms and health clubs.
“One of the things people don’t know about us is how much innovation happens inside Zumba,” Perlman, said noting Zumba’s particular emphasis and helping its instructors thrive. “You won’t find a fitness brand that’s as instructor-focused and has as many innovations as we do.”
Zumba instructors can join a specialized network to access tools for customizing classes, gain certifications and learn new teaching methods. Last fall, the fitness brand introduced a platform to make it easier for Zumba instructors to manage their classes, payments and scheduling, and even included a tip functionality for class members to thank their instructors.
“People tip their waiter or their Uber driver, but they don’t tip their fitness instructor, the person who changes their life the most,” Perlman pointed out.
